The dissolution ceremony.

Constructing the Mandala
On their final day in Cowra they had a dissolution ceremony and the mandala was reduced again to grains of coloured sand.

What had taken days to complete took only minutes to be destroyed even with much ceremony. This symbolises how now matter how long one’s life is it can be over so quickly.

Much of the grains of sand were distributed to the people who were present for the final ceremony.

Some of the grains were sprinkled in the nearby Lachlan River to symbolise peace and love flowing to all those along the river.
